The web series is based on the real-life incidents of a mother-daughter duo, Neena Gupta and Masaba Gupta. Both of them are playing themselves in a Netflix original series, which will be available for streaming on 28th August. Sonam Nair directed the budding fashion designer’s journey, and Ashvini Yardi’s Viniyard films are the production house for the same.

Neena Gupta and Masaba Gupta play fictionalized yet real characters for this show. Masaba Masaba finds the Ms. Gupta dealing with real problems of the glam world. Yes, the Glamour world is no exception to daily life hassle. The series finds Masaba Gupta trying hard to strike a balance between her personal and professional life. Ms. Gupta is dealing with the struggles of setting up her fashion designing business, handling a typical Indian mom at home, and a dramatic breakup.
The series witnesses both comedy and dramatic moments as Masaba heads in her life and unleashes new facets of life. One of the comedy scenes from the trailer shows that Masaba finds her own prints in a local fashion store where the shopkeeper sells the copies by saying, “Yeah, Masaba Print Hai Africa Se.” Yes, you can roll on the floor laughing!!!
Masaba Masaba also marks cameos from some famous celebrities like Kiara Advani as one of the clients for Ms. Gupta. Farah Khan, Pooja Bedi, Gajraj Rao, and Shibani Dandekar are also making special appearances in the Netflix original series. Neil Bhoopalam is playing the role of Masaba’s boss and Satyadeep Mishra is playing the role of her Ex-husband.
Masaba Gupta, in a statement, said that it was quite an experience to share the screen with mom.
