Avrodh -The Siege Within starring Amit Sadh, Neeraj Kabi, Madhurima Tuli, and Darshan Kumar is a detailed version of the incidents and missions behind India’s Surgical Strike in 2016. Director Raj Acharya conceptualized Avrodh because Uri: The Surgical Strike starring Vicky Kaushal was merely a synopsis of the incidents that happened in the terrorist attack that happened in URI. The makers of Avrodh have taken “India’s Most Fearless,” a book was written by Shiv Aroor Rahul, for bringing more realistic and brief facts on the screen. Avrodh spotlights “Desh Prem” and “Fearless Attitude of Indian Army” to give “Mooh Tod Badla to The Indian Enemy’s.”

It is a nine-episode long web series streaming on Sony Liv full of thrills and scares. With Avrodh, audiences will have a look at the close door meetings with the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, and other political influences in planning the first-ever retaliation.

The web series also focuses on the terrorist union of Jaish-e-Mohammed. It features an active involvement of Abu Hafiz (Anil George) representing the terror union convincing young schoolboys to join him in the name of religion. It clearly shows how innocent amateurs are trained to hate India and, ultimately, Hindus. Abu speaks fluent Kashmiri, which at times becomes difficult to understand in the movie.

The story-line of Avrodh starts off at a languid pace. Heart pounding action only comes when we head towards the end of the series. The apparent difference between Avrodh and Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019) is the format, while one is a web series briefing about the closed room discussions behind the Air Strike, and movie, briefing more about the actual strike.

Amit Sadh (Major Videep Singh) absolutely justifies the role of the Captain leading the entire Air Strike. He himself selects the team to accompany him in the “ever imagined retaliation by the Indian Army.”
