The much-buzzed-about and appreciated feminist movie, “Gunjan Saxena” got slammed because of its factual misrepresentation. The real-life “Kargil-Girl” quoted that the facts represented in the movie are partially false. The movie was produced under the banner of KJo headed, Dharma Productions, and was directed by Sharan Sharma. “Gunjan Saxena” was released on 12th August 2020 on the streaming giant, Netflix.

The story is based on a real-life story of the “Kargil-Girl, Gunjan Saxena” who was apparently shown as the first and only flight lieutenant to fly in Kargil operations. However, Gunjan Saxena’s coursemate Retd. flight lieutenant, Sreevidya Rajan took it personally and initiated a war. To be believed Rajan’s words, She was the first-ever female flight lieutenant to fly in Kargil Operations. She claimed this through a really long Facebook post.

Rajan also showed her strong belief and support in gender equality, and hence never claimed that she was the first-ever female flight lieutenant to fly in the Kargil War. She also quoted that her male counterparts faced a lot of hardships than them but were never given any appreciation. But they got it, just because they were women (probably perceived as the weaker ones). Rajan at any point never said any ill about Saxena, because she believes Gunjan is a thorough professional and would never give false facts. She also added that Gunjan achieved a lot throughout her career. Sreevidhya instead, claims upon Dharma Production for twisting the facts to a misleading ground.
