Hostel Daze

In balance with most shows that TVF mixes, the five-episodic series is reverent in its brand of joyfulness. The series probe for a more profound meaning in the story it narrates. The series revolves around four hostel mates, Ankit (Adarsh Gourav), Chirag (LUV) and Jaat (Shubham Gaur) and Jhantoo (Nikhil Vijay).

Hostel Daze is brisk, bright and immensely exciting as a new-age campus show. It makes its purpose clear with the title itself. It is a narrative about hostel life, dipped in a daze of nostalgia. The locus of the drama remains on producing light, feel-good fun moments that are outrightly amusing.

The show portrays the life of students surviving in a hostel, through the experiences of four wing-mates — Ankit, Chirag, Jaat, and Jhaatu. As they board this journey, fronting many trials and subduing most of them through new lores, they develop bonds that they shall foster endlessly. While driving through this new stage in life and senses of vulnerability and excitable emotion that surround the four boys, they find their true selves. In the process, they make a home away from their homes with their own set of casual rules. They quarrel, nudge, push but sometimes unite to survive the semester.

‘Hostel Daze’ delivers no pretence about following any other intent than being a happy watch totally aimed at making you laugh with juvenile flaws — a lot of which is spontaneously relatable for most of us.
