Zoya Akhtar with the cast has raised the bar for the other web series to come on different platforms , by crafting a show addressing multiple varied themes, social conflicts , all in nine episodes of an hour or maybe less.
It is truly a magisterial success from the director, her writers and the team, which deserves all the plaudits and buzz from all kinds of audience across the spectrum.
The story revolves around Tara Khanna played by Shobhita Dhulipala and Karan Mehta played by Arjun Mathur, their wedding planning business and their thoroughly messed up lives. These two entrepreneurs will go to any extent to get their business up and running. Verbal monologue of Kabir played by Shashank Arora at the end of every episode hits like a bullet.
Flawed characters flawlessly written, this is what makes it real. Where in one episode, it is about LGBTQ and their conflicts towards society, the next one focuses on the issues of dowry, and so the other episodes highlight the Drug abuse, corruption, molestation, old age marriage taboo, forced marriages , politics, superstitions, overambitions, insecurities and how social ideology gap, vulturing and other social illnesses are hollowing out society just like termites do to wood.
The drama casts Delhi life under a stark spotlight that bares it naked, and what people see underneath is an ugly yet beautiful face of the society.
